See Our Salmon

Valley of the Rogue State Park

See Our Salmon (SOS)  is a family oriented event that balances fun and educational activities for both children and adults.

Everyone will have a chance to view spawning salmon, collect and identify aquatic insects, play games and make fish prints.  Participants can also learn about salmon biology, managing noxious weeds, stream hydrology using the stream table, riparian areas and native plants.  Children are invited to attend a story telling session inside a giant salmon shaped tent.

The event is sponsored by the Seven Basins Watershed Council with our partners the Seven Basins Youth Watershed Club, Oregon Department of Forestry, Rogue River Watershed Council, Jackson County Cooperative Weed Management Area, Rogue Flyfishers,  Southern Oregon Monarch Advocates, the Bureau of Land Management, Oregon State Parks.
